What Does Engine Oil Do?
Oil is responsible for lubricating the moving parts of your vehicle's engine so that the parts can operate without too much friction. Oil also cleans your engine from dirt and other debris. As your engine operates more and more, microscopic wear and debris particles flake off from various internal engine parts and enter the vehicle's oil. To remove these particles, an oil change with clean, quality motor oil will ensure that the engine is bathed and well-lubricated.
Why Change Your Oil?
Your oil will eventually need to be changed, but there are plenty of other reasons to do beyond the reasons we listed in the above section. Here are some benefits that you can experience from regular oil changes:

What's the Difference Between Synthetic Oil vs. Regular Oil?
Synthetic oil is more artificial than regular oil, which is mined from the ground. Synthetic oil is designed with high-performance engines in mind and usually lasts longer than regular oil. Because of this, synthetic oil will usually cost more than regular oil. However, there is also a synthetic oil blend, which is a combination of regular oil and synthetic oil, that's cheaper than fully synthetic oil.
How Often Should You Replace Your Oil?
You might have heard that you should replace your oil every 3,000 miles. However, we recommend replacing the oil on your Mercedes-Benz every 5,000-10,000 miles. The specific number will vary depending on the model you drive, so be sure to check your vehicle's owner's manual to see when you should be replacing the oil in your Mercedes-Benz.
