Design
Evolution of a design trendsetter
Now the CLS shows off an even sportier look. AMG® styling components include an AMG®-specific front bumper, AMG® sill trim on the side, a front splitter in silver chrome, sporty, distinctive air intakes and aerodynamically shaped flics in high-gloss black.
Four-door coupe design
The pioneering "four-door coupe" design of the CLS, with its arching roof and tensed muscle, inspired even plain sedans to become more sensuous. It's aerodynamically refined to evade the wind, but styled to capture admiring eyes.
4MATIC® all-wheel drive
Always engaged and optimizing torque to every wheel, 4MATIC integrates with Electronic Stability Program, for maximum effectiveness in corners and slippery conditions. It also incorporates 4-ETS®, which monitors for the first sign of wheel slip.

3-passenger rear seat
The CLS is now a true five-seater, thanks to a full-width rear seat. Its contoured seatback offers lasting support for two or three passengers, and can fold down in a 40/20/40 split for a variety of ways to accommodate passengers.
Power front seats with memory
Power front seats feature intuitive, seat-shaped controls on the door, plus a 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored positions.
Leather upholstery
Supple, richly grained double-stitched leather is hand-fitted to the seating surfaces and head restraints. Carefully tailored stitching flows curvaceously up the seatback, in perfect concert with the natural human form.
64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents
A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting glows at three levels: beneath the "waveform" dash and door trim, behind the in-dash screens, and in the footwells.
12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia display
A widescreen color display with multitouch interface makes it easy to access a world of features, including audio, MB Navigation, phone and vehicle settings. It also responds to the advanced voice control.
Performance
The CLS 450 4MATIC® has a mild hybrid powertrain. Its 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline engine comes with an integrated second-generation starter-generator and 48-volt electrical system with an output of up to 21 hp and up to 184 lb-ft electric boost. Energy recovery and the possibility to “glide” with the engine switched off make this powertrain very efficient. Electrification also allows the use of an electric refrigerant compressor for the air conditioning system.
